What is DeepSeek?
DeepSeek is a Chinese lab known for strong reasoning models released with open weights and very low API prices. Its official chat app is free; with “DeepThink” enabled it shows the full reasoning trace before answering, which works particularly well for math, coding and logic problems. Web search and file uploads are also supported.
